Unwavering and firm
Would you stand
Before the choices you'd made

Misconceived they were yours truly
Thus taking out any odd puzzle
And wrenching it cruelly

Inner tides and ebbs
In a well kept, hidden place
Swirling the dreams and nightmares
To which we're all fragile
Just might be a glass or lace

The one to go
Or the one to stay
Never taking an oath
Or a promise to obey

And yet we stand
Proud and self-aware
Taking the notion
Of a self preservation path
That made us not care
Or at least not to show the feelings
We were bound not to bear
